DO PLOT/STARCLAN CATS COUNT AS HIGH POSITIONS?
Nope! But don't go overboard with them. I play 4 plot cats because I know how the plot is supposed to work -- normal members should play 2 at most. [Even top mods, co-admins, and mods. Especially mods, since the top mods & co-admins know about the plot, too.] StarClan cats -- 3 at most per member. I play so many because I'm cool.
DO I HAVE TO AUDITION OR CAN I JUST POST MY BIO?
You have to. A high rank requires an audition unless the related staffers send you a PM stating their consent. This happens with deputies and MCAs only, as those are transitional roles and not ultimate ones.
EXAMPLE:
If you want to be the RiverClan deputy, you must go to the RiverClan deputy audition thread. The exception is if the RiverClan leader, medicine cat, and MCA if there is one [which there is], as well as the admin [me] if not included in those ranks, PM you saying something like, "I consent to your being the RiverClan deputy." But if you want to be the RiverClan leader, even if we're still new and that position has never been filled, you must audition, no exceptions.
WHEN DO AUDITIONS END?
Typically, a few days after the first audition is completed. If the staff are not satisfied with the available auditions, then we'll extend the deadline a week or two.
Times may vary.
WHAT DO I DO IF I GET THE POSITION?
Post your bio in the Resume Mailbox board. An accepted audition does not mean an accepted biography.
HOW CAN I WIN?
There aren't any solid tips for winning. Just make your cat an interesting character but a realistic choice and you'll have a chance.
CAN I BE STAFF IF I WIN?
Yes. You're automatically promoted to Moderator if you win. Over time, I'll choose the most trustworthy Moderators to become Top Mods, and the most trustworthy Top Mods to be Co-Admins.
WHAT IF I LOSE?
Don't have a tantrum. If you still want to get a position, post in another audition thread.
WHAT IF MY HIGH-RANKED CAT DIES/RETIRES?
Don't worry, you won't lose your staff position. You'll be first in line for a cat to fill that position.
WHAT IF SOMEONE ALREADY AUDITIONED FOR MY DESIRED POSITION?
Feel free to audition. The more auditions, the better.
HOW MANY AT A TIME?
Two. And there's a possibility you'll win both, so see the next question.
HOW MANY POSITIONS CAN I HAVE?
Two tops, unless you are NPCing a soon-to-be-killed high rank, or unless you are going to exile/kill one of your PC high ranks. Those two must be Lead/Meddie, Lead/MCA, Dep/Meddie, or Dep/MCA.
CAN I CHALLENGE THE WINNER OF A POSITION?
No. If the staff liked the auditioner well enough to make them a staffer, then how could you win?
CAN I ADOPT AN INACTIVE HIGH-RANKED CAT?
No. Normal inactive cats are placed up for adoption, but high-ranked inactive cats need to go.
DO I NEED TO KNOW THE CEREMONIES TO BE A LEADER?
Yes. See Secrets of the Clans if necessary.
DO I NEED TO KNOW THE HERBS TO BE A MEDICINE CAT?
Even more important than ceremonies for leaders. Again, see Secrets of the Clans.
CAN I COPY IDEAS FROM SOMEONE ELSE'S POST?
What do you think? Of course not! Some ideas are things that you all will probably come up with -- but there are clearly unique ideas in each audition, so we can hunt out copied ideas.
