reference... A brown tabby tom with amber eyes and white paws.
appearance... Hawkpaw is, though on the short side, strong and stocky; he's always been better at fighting than hunting. His short, coarse fur is light brown, and he has darker brown stripes forming the mackerel tabby pattern on his coat. His paws are white, but the white fur doesn't extend up his leg at all. His eyes are an amber color, an owlish mix of yellow, gold, and orange rimmed with lime.
personality... Hawkpaw is, in three words, boastful, boisterous, and benevolent. He feels very superior to everyone else, but isn't actually condescending; he simply talks about his "greatness" and accomplishments a lot, and often tries to outdo other cats. He's quite (in his opinion) the charming, sweet cat; he tries to be as cheerful, friendly, gentle, kind, compassionate, helpful, etc. as possible, and rarely loses his temper with his loved ones. He doesn't know what others think of him, but tries to give the impression that he's just a friendly rival, nothing dangerous or antagonistic.
Hawkpaw is fiercely protective of his friends, family, and Clanmates; he doesn't get riled up when you insult him, but if he thinks you've offended someone he's close to, he puts you on his black list and later tries to think of ways to get revenge on you. Hawkpaw is an adventurous, mischievous cat, always poking his nose in where it's least wanted and finding himself in heaps of trouble. He is not a hugely serious cat, but isn't a constantly goofy/silly/joking type of guy either; he's very earnest and is sorrowful and thoughtful when he thinks he should be, even though he's of the playful, trouble-making variety.
history... When her sister Dustflight died in birth, Honeywhisker wanted to take the kits -- Berrykit and Hawkkit -- into her own care. However, she hadn't had her own kits yet, so she had no milk. Another queen offered to take Hawkkit and his sister until Honeywhisker had her kits, and so she did. Hawkkit and Berrykit grew up alongside Volekit (their cousin and Honeywhisker's son) and Mistykit (Volekit's orphaned friend). Hawkkit was originally a very obedient, desperate-to-please kind of cat; however, the mischievous, trouble-making personalities of his denmates quickly took care of that trait.
When he turned six moons old, his father Bearclaw, a fierce, hardworking warrior, fell into the gorge separating WindClan and RiverClan's territories while taking his apprentice (killed days later by a fox) back from a visit to the Moonstone with Finchstar. However, Hawkkit hadn't known his father very well, so he was undaunted by this event. Finchstar concluded that it would be all right, if not desirable, to apprentice Hawkkit to Honeywhisker (he'd planned on having Bearclaw give Honeywhisker his apprentice and then apprenticing Hawkkit to Bearclaw). So he did, and now Hawkkit is Hawkpaw, training to be a warrior of ThunderClan under Honeywhisker's eye.
